The brief was to create a T-shirt based on Reggie Bullock’s story within the LGBTQ community. Partnering with The Hetrick Martin Institute, the nation’s oldest and largest organization helping gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, and questioning (LGBTQ) youth to reach their full potential.
With my background in lettering, I thought it was a great oppurtunity for the kids to help design the T-shirt themselves. I gave a quick talk on how Lettering and Typography have impacted my career and how they will have the freedom to create any letter of “New York Forever” they want to try. The concept treating each letter as an individual expression coming together to create a wholistic vision. Just like the diversity in New York City & the diversity within the LGBTQ community.
